you cookin’ yet?
You are so much stronger than you think you are.
You figure it out.
You shift.
You make it work.
And you've been doing it for a very long time.
But that doesn't mean that Life feels piece-of-cake-easy, right?
The trick/magic seems to lie in finding worthwhile work & then practicing using tools from your personally curated, Get ‘Er Done pantry--you know, the one you've been curating since you first began to walk & talk on your own-- to bring that work to its natural completion.
Whether we're laboring on the work of raising a child or supporting an aging parent,
Whether we're in the midst of buying our first home or adding an addition to the one we've lived in for years,
Whether we're studying to qualify for the next big thing or figuring out what lifestyle changes would help us get better feedback at our next annual physical exam,
Or whether we're in the midst of a creative project--like Dolly's next album project, or our own efforts to produce 4 dozen bespoke cupcakes for a friend's special event,
The Time to Hang On--to commit, persevere, & sacrifice in order to see the job through-- is, more likely than not, at least several shades of HARD & pretty much demands that we curate a personalized pantry to support us while we're “gettin' 'er done”!
hanging on pantry essentials
You've been doing this thing called Life long enough that I KNOW you've already got a few tools--strategies, mindsets, and/or protocols--in your personalized pantry that've proven helpful when an extra dose of focus, gumption, and oomph is needed to get you cookin' on a project or other creative endeavor!
Like maybe, you remind yourself of your BIG WHY as often as needed when your spirits are flagging.
Because it's important to me that Crystal feel loved & celebrated, I'm determined to get these cupcakes designed, baked, decorated, and delivered for her event!
Because it's important that Dad be as safe and healthy as possible, I'm going to invite my siblings to a family meeting next week in order to consider a change to Dad's current living arrangement.
Because it's important that I raise reasonably well-adjusted children who have a safe, inviting space in which to live, I'm going to spiff and disinfect their play area…again.
And, the one that resonates most with me right now: Because I want to have loving & healthy relationships with my adult children & their spouses for decades to come, I'm going to be really intentional about not overstepping & keeping my advice (mostly) to myself.
Having a BIG WHY reminder strategy is an important pantry component. I mean, we're pretty much reaching for it every other minute or three, so if you haven't figured out the BIG WHY for all of the big, ongoing creative projects in your life, consider sittin' down & getting this nailed down & “stored in your pantry” in a really handy space as soon as possible!
NOTE: If you sit down and cannot for the life of you figure out the BIG WHY for The Thing you're doing or feel you need to be doing, then, ummmm, that's pretty good information, right? Like, maybe it's now time for The Thing to be pushed far down on (or even eliminated from) your life?
In the last newsletter, I rolled out a couple of strategies for Hanging On/Hanging In that are worth considering, practicing, & experimenting with to determine how they might fit into your personal pantry. Click here to be taken to the blog exploring how working with our ultradian rhythms & instituting a Morning Minute can help us navigate HARD things more easily and with loads more respect for our bodies, minds, and spirits.
We are strong. We overcome. We shift. And we'll keep on keepin' on.
That's why it's important that we share strategies--like reminding ourselves of our BIG WHY-- that help us all get cookin', serving up more of our unique blend of creative love and goodness into the universe.
Mainly because, the world can use ALL of the love and goodness we can pour into it.
And, so, honestly, can we.
