A woman’s time & season & purpose
Oh, Woman, don't you know that the cosmic dance of Father Time & Mama Nature is embedded in your own wild & precious body?
Hey Kathleen,
Being Well-Seasoned begins & ends with this nugget of deep wisdom:
So, exactly how do Time & Season & Purpose pair up & move together?
And, how are we women supposed to know this “dance”?
It turns out this “cosmic choreography” is one that involves Circles and Lines & Curves.
Both Time & Nature are based upon cyclical patterns. You know, things like Mama Earth's orbit around the Sun, her seasonal growing cycles, the twice annual Solstices & Equinoxes, monthly lunar cycles, and the many life cycles of creatures and plants, both great and small--these all operate according to cosmic, circular rhythms.
But, we can't forget about the linear qualities of Time & Season either. These are things like a yearly calendar, or a timeline of events, or a storyline revealing plots & evolutions for earth & those who live here.
So, here's where the magic of a woman's embodied, sacred geometry shows up because we can see both the cycles & lines--both the ticking of Father Time's “beat” and the swish of Mama Nature's seasonal skirt as she is swept into the dance --as embedded, circadian wisdom within the curves of a woman's wild & precious body.
It's a totally natural, biochemical thing. It's a tale as old as time--and as fresh and new as each woman's own beautiful body & her individual Wheel of Life!
All we gotta do is follow the FLOW--the timing & direction & geometry of her menstrual cycles (aka bloodlines) that define a mature woman's seasons of life.
The way I reword it, using the framework of our ancient wisdom nugget is this:
“To every woman, there are Seasons, each a Time for its own creative purpose under heaven. There is a time for a woman's first half of life--when her vital, fertile flow leaves her body and travels out into the world. A time for a woman's second half of life--when her vital, fertile flow is withheld, kept within her body to transform it.
And, there is a time between the two halves of a woman's life--the time of a woman's Tidal Turnabout-- when a woman experiences the SHIFT of her FLOW, her balance, her direction, her orientation, her, well, pretty much everything.”
Discovering what each of her four Seasons is all about & how to celebrate a woman's creative FLOW through each is good and important work--the work of a Well-Seasoned Woman.
Discovering how our storylines gets tangled (blocked and/or overloaded) and how to get untangled & restore our FLOW, is also good and vital work--the practices of a Well-Seasoned Woman.
And, discovering the shift from a “What's THE MATTER with you?” during her mid-life years to “What MATTERS to you?” is of utmost importance for truly living fully and flowing freely from one half to the other half of her life--as well as through the many creative cycles in which a woman engages over and over, throughout every season of her life as a Well-Seasoned Woman.
Are you nodding your head in agreement with this? I mean, does this not make all the sense in the world? And, aren't you curious to know more?
If you answered YES, then I'm going to encourage you to sign up this very minute for the absolutely free Introductory Workshop that I'm hosting a week from today, on June 15th. Mainly because, what I've shared here is basically the FIRST FIVE MINUTES of the 60-minute workshop & you're simply not gonna want to miss out on the goodness of it all!
And okay, also because I won't be offering this hour-long workshop again until the kiddos are back in school, and you'll miss out on kicking off your summer with a big dose of love from Father Time & Mama Nature--and me!
So, here's my challenge to us both, dear reader: Let's start SHOWING UP for our lives in the HERE and NOW--you know, this day, this season, this time--no matter in which half of life we are. Let's begin affirming our FLOW & the exact age we're at--not stuck in the past nor escaping into the future. Let's practice bringing a lotta love to our bodies, our hearts, and our minds, knowing that where we're at in time and space is really all we have.
Until next time,
xo
